Refund Policy

Effective 10 May 2026

If you're not happy with FoundLocal in the first 30 days, we'll refund you in full. This page explains how and what happens after that.

The 30-day full refund

Within 30 days of your first paid subscription, you can ask for a full refund for any reason. No questions asked, no calls, no retention scripts.

How to request a refund

Pick whichever is easiest:

You don't need to explain why. "Refund please" is enough.

How long it takes

We initiate the refund as soon as we receive the request. Your payment processor and card issuer then move the money back to your original payment method, which usually takes 5 to 10 business days to land. If it takes longer, write to us and we'll chase it.

What happens to the website

When we issue a refund, we cancel the subscription. Your live site stays up briefly so you can save anything you wrote, then we replace it with a "no longer active" placeholder. If you want a copy of your content, ask and we'll send the bundle within seven business days.

After the 30-day window

After the first 30 days, monthly subscriptions can be cancelled but not refunded for the period in progress. Your site stays live through the end of the current billing period, then we take it down. This is the same way most monthly software works.

Annual subscriptions

If you paid for a year up front, the 30-day full-refund window applies to your first invoice the same way. After that, if you cancel partway through the year, we can refund the unused portion on a pro-rata basis at our discretion. Write to us and we'll work it out.

Chargebacks

Please ask us for a refund before opening a chargeback with your card issuer. Chargebacks cost everyone time and money, and we'd rather just give you the refund. We've never said no to a 30-day refund request.
